Job Description:

Position Summary:

 We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Lead to join our innovative team. This role is crucial in leading the implementation of a Data Lakehouse (Data Backbone) solution in the Life Insurance and Investments industry, with a specific focus on Client and Marketing across all lines of business (SLOCPI, SLAMCI, SLGFI, SLIMTC, etc.) covering individual and group data. The successful candidate will manage squads, comprised of technical and business team members, driving the development of data and analytics products that will enhance client experience and marketing performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Ownership:

Partner with the Product Manager to detail the product vision for the Data Backbone into an executable roadmap that aligns with the Business strategy

Execute the product vision for the Data Backbone Client & Marketing Workstream

Ensure the product meets the needs of end-users, including data scientists, insights specialists, and campaign owners.

Translate business requirements into actionable product backlog items and user stories.

Prioritize features and capabilities that align with organizational goals and user needs.

Synthesize and harmonize requirements and inputs from different business stakeholders and data end-users.

Guide both business and technical talents, and unblock challenges

Foster a collaborative and agile working environment to ensure efficient product delivery.

Performance Monitoring and Value Realization

Define and track OKRs for the product workstream

Contribute to the overall Data Backbone Value Statement Card (VSC) / Business Case

Quantify the potential benefits and business impact from each backlog / business requirement

Drive value realization from deployed use cases and champion the adoption and utilization of Data Backbone features

Drive awareness and educate both technical and business end-users on Data Backbone Client Workstream concepts and features

Continuously analyze and report on product performance and user adoption

Partner with Finance and monitor the realization of potential benefits, which may include decommissioning of reports/systems, freeing up capacity, or enabling CX & marketing initiatives and campaigns for more data-driven decision-making

KPI Stewardship

Review and drive the standardization of business logic and KPI metric definition across functions, Lines of Business, or with other markets

This includes aligning KPI definitions in relation to business goals, in order to drive the right behaviors and business actions

Endorsing the KPIs for sign-off from the KPI Owner or Executive Leader

Stakeholder Management:             

Enable and support Client and Marketing in leveraging the Data Backbone and its features

Manage and facilitate senior leadership discussions to build transparency, confidence, and ensure successful delivery.

Collaborate with Change Management and Training Teams to drive the adoption and utilization of Data Backbone product features, including dashboards, reports, and the data warehouse

Risk Management:

Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues throughout the product lifecycle

Develop contingency plans and implement risk mitigation strategies

Technical Expertise:

Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data management and analytics.

User Experience:

Understand and advocate for the needs of end-users, including data scientists, insights and data specialists, and operations managers.

Continuously gather feedback and iterate on product features to enhance user satisfaction and productivity.

Agile Methodologies:

Implement and champion Agile practices within the team.

Facilitate sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Metrics and KPIs:

Self-service Adoption % and usage of Data Backbone features for decision-making Business value delivery and realization, whether revenue impact, cost savings/avoidance, etc. # of Client and Marketing KPIs delivered Timely completion and quality of business requirements and backlog health Timely delivery of tasks, features, and backlogs committed in the Value Statement Card Squad Engagement Data Literacy and Training Completion Rate

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master's degree preferred 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role in data-driven projects Strong understanding of data management, analytics, and lakehouse architectures Experience in the Life Insurance and Investments industry is highly desirable Experience in developing and deploying data analytics solutions in the Client Experience and Marketing domain Proven track record of successful product delivery in Agile, Lean Incremental, or Waterfall methodology Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Outstanding communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in the mentioned tech stack (Confluence, JIRA, Tableau, Erwin Data Modeler, AWS).
