What is the compensation?
Pay Rate: Starting at $15.00 per hour

What are the main duties?
Create dance lesson plans that balance creativity and technique.
Teach dance classes to a group of students ranging from 18 months to adult.
Collaborate with the program director to plan music selection, costumes, and performances.
Choreograph dances for performances.
Perform other related duties in support of the dance program as instructed by the program director.
What do I need to apply?
Sufficient experience with teaching and choreographing dance to demonstrate an ability to perform the duties of the position.
What are the hours?
Dance instructors generally teach 2-5 hours per week, depending on teacher preference and availability. This is a part-time regular position with new semesters introducing new classes. Hired employees are invited to stay on between semesters and teach new classes. Dance classes are typically held Monday through Thursday in semester-long increments. New hires will begin their assignment in the Summer 2026 Semester.
Summer 2026 Semester Classes (May 26-August 13)
Tuesday mornings, 10:30a -12:15p (Kids Combo, Preschool Creative Movement)
Thursday morning/afternoons (as a co-teacher), 10:30a - 2:20p (Teen Beginning Dance, Preschool Ballet, Parent/Child Movement, Boys and Girls Ballroom)
Thursday evenings 8:00a - 1:00p (Adult Advanced Ballet, Intermediate Pointe)
(Qualified applicants may be invited to teach more than one class.)

What is the selection process?
Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening to be held on May 12, 2026. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.
If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
