Job Description — Material Handling General Labor

Job Summary

The Material Handling General Labor position supports the daily movement, organization, and storage of materials within the facility. This role operates in a cold, dry environment and requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks while following all safety and operational procedures. The ideal candidate demonstrates reliability, accuracy, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production setting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform material handling tasks including pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying items weighing up to 80 pounds independently.

  • Work in cold, dry temperatures ranging 25–48°F for extended periods.

  • Stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for 8–12 hours per shift.

  • Utilize basic computer systems and/or operate RF scanning equipment to complete inventory and tracking functions.

  • Ensure accurate movement of products and materials throughout the facility in alignment with safety and operational standards.

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within assigned work areas.

  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Support team leads, supervisors, and coworkers to meet daily material flow and production goals.

Work Schedule Requirements

  • Ability to work any assigned shift, including morning, evening, or overnight (graveyard).

  • Ability to work shift lengths of 8–12 hours, depending on production requirements.

  • Must be willing to work in varying conditions within the Material Handling environment.
