Job Summary:
The Sr Data Analyst focuses on projects and data discovery. Works hand-in-hand with stakeholders to understand request requirements, conduct analysis, and interpret the results. Uses expertise to create project requirements and expand analysis into deeper learning. Works on projects that center around descriptive analysis with forecasting potential. Consults for more predictive and prescriptive projects.
Responsibilities:
20% Conducts continuous data exploration of internal and external data sources. Works with data engineers to ingest sources into the data lake, validate/cleanse, and stage for analysis purposes.
30% Collaborates with business stakeholders to understand large-scale business initiatives. Conducts initial analysis to inform requirements and provide the full picture. Models, validates, and productionalizes results then presents findings to stakeholders and walks through continued interpretations from automation.
30% Balances multiple, quick turnaround responses to ad hoc analysis that is also thoroughly validated and answers immediate business needs.
10% Evangelizes data and tools that increase organizational access to data and ad hoc capabilities to help business stakeholders draw conclusions and drive data-informed decisions.
5% Participates in demonstrations on analytical tools and/or concepts.
5% Collaborates with other analytics functions around the organization to maintain consistency and accuracy and stay abreast of new tools, algorithms, and methodologies.
5% Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree, applicable certification or equivalent experience.
• Typically requires 5-8 years of professional experience and strong competency with the various tools, systems, or procedures required to accomplish the job.
