Job Description

DESCRIPTION:
The Cycle Counter is responsible for performing scheduled inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures inventory accuracy for raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods, supporting production efficiency and minimizing downtime due to stock variances.


Key Responsibilities:
• Perform regular cycle counts of raw materials, components, WIP, and finished goods
• Verify inventory accuracy by comparing physical counts to ERP system records (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor)
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and collaborate with production, receiving, and shipping teams to identify root causes
• Document count results and report issues to Inventory Control or Production Planning
• Assist with adjustments and transactions in the ERP system as directed
• Ensure parts and materials are stored in correct locations and properly labeled
• Support full physical inventories during scheduled shutdowns or audits
• Adhere to safety and quality standards while working in production and warehouse areas
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners in accordance with safety guidelines
• Communicate proactively with production and warehouse teams to minimize disruptions

REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or GED required
• Experience:
o 1–2 years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment
o Experience with ERP systems and inventory transactions strongly preferred
• Skills:
o Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
o Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and materials flow
o Strong math skills and ability to read part numbers and BOMs
o Proficiency with barcode scanning and basic computer applications
o Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team

• Certifications: Forklift certification (preferred or required depending on job duties)

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to lift up to 55 pounds unassisted up to 70 pounds with assistance and use mechanical lifting tools when weights exceed 85 pounds. The employee must also be able to perform normal physical activities, walking, bending, standing, climb at heights and conduct work of heights. Other basic performance includes donning full protection as needed, performing work on ladders maintaining 3 points of contact.

Working Conditions:
• Frequent standing, walking, and climbing in warehouse and production areas
• Exposure to varying temperature conditions, noise, and machinery
• Must wear appropriate PPE as required
• Will be required to work with flammable and hazardous materials

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $18.54–$27.81.
