The CVO Insurance Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate malpractice insurance documentation for clinicians and clients. The role validates insurance coverage details to ensure accuracy and will assist with and support annual insurance policy renewal processing. The CVO Insurance Specialist acts as a resource to answer questions and resolve issues concerning malpractice insurance, tail coverage, and patient compensation funds. This role assembles and maintains statistical data and may perform and/or oversee specific projects and programs as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

Requesting and Filing All Malpractice Coverage Certificate of Insurance (COI) for Clinicians and Clients – 80%

  • Processes COI requests daily while working with our insurance carriers to ensure requests are received timely
  • Routinely uploads COIs to database
  • Manages the shared email inbox and distribute emails to ensure all inquiries are completed
  • Obtains and tracks higher limit approvals, as requested
  • Obtains and tracks approval of malpractice insurance, as needed
  • Maintains and updates COI master list as requests are made
  • Resolves or appropriately refers questions, requests, complaints, or concerns
  • Keeps management informed of area activities, and of any significant problems

Assist with Monthly Compensation Fund Responsibilities – 20%

  • Help prepare and maintain clinicians’ monthly compensation fund enrollment
  • Processes check and wire requests
  • Manages invoices and payments for compensation fund enrollments

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS (IF APPLICABLE)

  • May work on special projects or other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY/BUDGETARY/EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITY

  • May communicate with clinicians, clients, and state boards

QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 1+ year of related experience preferred

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, WORKING CONDITION, AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Typical office environment - sedentary with typing, writing, reading requirements. May be able to sit or stand.
