Customs Strategic Initiatives Leader LATAM
What you’ll do:
• Provide strategic direction, advisory and execution support for Customs and Trade Compliance strategic initiatives across LATAM, aligned with GE HealthCare global and regional priorities.
• Lead and support cross-functional initiatives involving Customs, Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal and IT, ensuring alignment, governance and effective execution.
• Drive the design, implementation and continuous improvement of customs transformation initiatives, including process optimization, standard work enablement and digitalization.
• Support regional and global projects related to customs operations, compliance frameworks, broker management, and customs automation.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, analytics and management reports (KPIs, metrics, trackers) to support decision-making, visibility and performance monitoring.
• Act as a key interface between LATAM and Global Customs teams, translating global strategies into regional execution plans.
• Support customs-related assessments, diagnostics, pilots and business cases for new initiatives or process changes.
• Facilitate workshops, training sessions and communication materials related to customs strategic initiatives for customs and non-customs stakeholders.
• Support audits, internal controls and governance activities related to customs initiatives, ensuring alignment with compliance requirements.
• Identify risks, dependencies and improvement opportunities across customs processes and proactively propose solutions.
• Contribute to the development of best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal guidance materials.
What you need to have:
• Bachelor’s degree required (International Trade, Law, Economics, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering or related fields).
• 8+ years of experience in Customs, Trade Compliance, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related strategic/operational roles.
• Solid understanding of customs operations and trade compliance concepts (e.g. import/export processes, HS classification, valuation, origin, special customs regimes).
• Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, Power Automate or similar).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure complex problems and translate them into actionable initiatives.
• Fluent English and Portuguese are required.
What would be nice if you had:
• Experience supporting or leading regional or global transformation projects.
• Knowledge of customs special programs and regimes (e.g. Special Deposit, Drawback, Ex-Tariff, IMMEX, Free Trade Agreements).
• Experience working in a matrix, multinational environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact with senior leadership.
• Spanish proficiency is a plus.
• Project management experience or certification is a plus.
