Customs Clearance and Import Lead

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

In this role you will handle & verify all required documents for import operation shipments by ensuring documents & payments are efficiently completed from internal stakeholders (Treasury & Purchasing) and follow up on all Customs Clearance day-to-day activities for overseas shipments to ensure their alignment with Jotun objectives, policies, and procedures.

  • Follow up on import shipment documents (CargoX, banking, purchasing) and initiate customs clearance.
  • Coordinate inbound purchase orders, systematic receiving, and transfers to final destinations in line with operations schedules.
  • Communicate with suppliers on freight status, including tracking, routing, dispatching, and rate quotations.
  • Ensure all customs-related activities and documentation comply with policies, procedures, and shipment timelines.
  • Participate in planning processes with internal stakeholders.
  • Support the Purchasing Manager in evaluating logistics solutions (packaging, lot size, distributors, transport, customs regulations, local laws).
  • Assist in updating local purchasing parameters and ensuring accurate supplier invoice control and timely payments.
  • Monitor, follow up, and report KPIs to the Purchasing Manager, ensuring zero demurrage.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR AND WHAT WE OFFER

What We Look For:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain management, or any related field.
  • 3-4 years of experience in Import, Custom Clearance and/or Freight Forwarding.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken Arabic & English.
