What is a Customer Support Assistant
This role works within the Customer Experience team, which works directly with the company’s contact center, operations, and billing departments. The Customer Support Assistant works extensively within our SAP meter to cash Customer Information System (CIS). The Customer Support Assistant will perform customer support office and clerical work while exercising good judgment and responsibility when performing such.
What does a Customer Support Assistant do?
Communicates with other corporate personnel and/or external customers, responding to customer correspondence in various channels excluding incoming phone calls
Works on lists of orders that may involve billing issues or service issues; reviews and corrects business process exceptions, error listings and other reports including making billing adjustments as necessary
Confirms, analyzes, summarizes, and transcribes information and data from various sources
Prepares and maintains digital and/or paper files, reports, system records and databases
Operates office machines and equipment including, but not limited to, copy machine, scanner, fax machine, computers, telephone equipment and calculators; solicits and receives customer information
Performs all other office tasks as assigned; capable of performing all of the general customer support duties and is familiar with all of the procedures of the office and the business process to which the employee is assigned to support
Employees may be utilized to perform work during emergencies including interacting with customers in all customer channels to support the company in addressing issues impacting safe and reliable service
Provides support for storm restoration efforts
What does it take to be a Customer Support Assistant?
Required:
High School or an Equivalency Diploma
Must have proficient computer skills
Must have excellent telephone manners, the ability to work well with others and the ability to meet the public in a courteous and businesslike manner
Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
Prior customer service experience
Prior billing experience
