ROLE SUMMARY
As Customer Supply Manager you will be accountable for leading and effectively delivering the ONE Pfizer Customer Supply Policy strategy and operations across Pfizer’s UK supply chain and product portfolio to ensure continuity of supply for UK patients. The Customer Supply Manager will report to the Commercial Portfolio & Operations Director and line manage the Supply Management and Account Executive (SAME).
In this role, you will have significant accountability for:
- Developing, implementing, and continually evolving Customer Supply policy strategies and processes for all Pfizer medicines sold by UK Therapy Areas & Global Hospital & Biosimilars to meet internal and external evolution, and all Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
- As UK Trade Manager, work in partnership with the European Trade Operations Director and Trade Legal Counsel, to ensure full UK compliance with the European Supply Policy Guidelines and UK Supply Policies.
- Ensure that UK Commercial sales volumes, enable continuity of supply of Pfizer medicines to UK patients, in line with Legal policies and regulations.
- Apply extensive technical and functional knowledge to projects which drive continuous improvement, innovation and capability growth within approaches.
- Building organizational understanding and engagement, ensuring transparency of supply policies and their respective implementation actions.
- Use strong IT and Numerical Analysis tools and techniques to undertake deep-dive product/channel supply assessments & align with external environmental insights.
- Supporting, developing and inspiring the SAME to deliver against the organizational priorities and accountabilities.
- Leading or supporting Commercial Portfolio & Operations defined projects aligned to strategic ambitions;.
This role will provide you with exciting opportunities to:
- Bring and implement innovative ideas, initiatives, and projects to Supply policy approaches within the UK . Including looking at relevant technological innovation (AI) for continuous improvement.
- Provide UK Supply Policy with strategic direction, by collaborating with aligned functions to deliver supply policy processes.
- Lead the UK relationship with the Pfizer European Trade Operations team, ensuring that all business processes and actions are aligned with European Supply Policy, as guided by UK Legal counsel.
- Collaborate and partner across ONE Pfizer to find solutions to their needs and ensuring that Supply Policy execution takes precedence where conflicts of interest may arise.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Excellence:
- Be the Subject Matter Expert and functional lead for all Supply Policy business processes and IT systems changes related to Pfizer internal system changes, Pfizer acquisition blueprints, distribution strategy, UK DTP model, and independent 3rd Party Outlier Audits and IT Application Strategies.
- Ensure operational sales monitoring and apply strong statistical and data knowledge to operational processes.
- Use Supply policy processes to support the implementation of other Pfizer Policies, ensuring continuity of supply of medicines to UK patients (e.g. Customer Classification, POM Classification, Manufacturing Shortfall).
- Work closely with the Master Data & Customer Validation Team, and apply supply policy processes to ensure that customers access the medicines they are approved to buy under the Customer Classification Policy only.
- Collaborate with internal colleagues and external Service Providers to ensure full second line resolution of escalated customer queries / issues and represent Pfizer with customers as required.
- Ensure all key decisions are clearly documented and maintained to achieve organizational memory and support review as required.
- Work closely with the DTP Logistics Service Provider (LSP) to ensure that supply policy are accurately and effectively implemented in their ERP system.
- GDP working: Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) regulations, to maintain the quality of the products and integrity of the distribution chain.
Strategy, Execution & Leadership:
- Develop and implement supply policy strategies and processes for all medicines sold by UK Therapy Areas (TAs).
- Accountable for leadership of functional goals and relevant KPIs.
- Ensure delivery of Pfizer UK business needs and priorities.
- Invest time understanding portfolio (new and existing) and market evolution in order to anticipate changes and proactively evolve approaches – achieving readiness ahead of potential changes e.g. attending external customer meetings and events, meeting colleagues within brand teams.
- Recognize and collaborate with individuals to ensure that all tasks can be completed to a high degree of competence whilst maintaining an approach that adapts to internal or external changes.
- Pro-active cross-functional collaboration with Demand Managers, Finance, Brand Leads and Commercial Directors to ensure success of workstreams and projects.
Innovation, Technology & Data:
- Internal and external networking to understand how the business and environment is evolving.
- Seeking, scoping, and implementing opportunities for process improvements and innovations, and enhance Pfizer UK’s relationship with its customers.
- Ensure all technological developments which comply and are relevant to processes are considered and implemented.
- Work with external data benchmarks to ensure data accuracy; explore, document, and resolve data gaps.
- Oversee resolution of system interface failures (e.g. SAP ERP), between Pfizer & external Logistics Service Providers.
- Own the deployment schedule and provide technical business process support for application change requests & version releases via European / Global BT Partners.

QUALIFICATIONS
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Pharmaceutical Industry experience; including knowledge of supply chain, including a comprehensive understanding of external customers and channels.
- Very strong Data Analysis / Numerical Analysis skills, able to complete robust statistical analyses of large data sets.
- Logical Reasoning skills to form appropriate conclusions and then take compliant actions that improve the effectiveness of the supply controls.
- IT skills: including the ability to write moderately complex programs in languages like VBA and R (essential), manage large data sources effectively, use of data warehouse, effective and efficient exchange of data between systems, appropriate summarization/re-shaping/enrichment of datasets.
- Able to engage with customers to understand their needs whilst operating compliantly and professionally.
- Good interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Commercial awareness of how medicines are typically used, across all Therapy Areas.
- Strong Data Visualization skills.
- Ability to plan and continuously priorities workload to support business needs.
- Ability to review and ensure alignment of all relevant policies, regulations, and internal guidance, with other teams across Pfizer UK as needed.
