Responsibilities of the role may include:
• Drive system BOM optimization and innovation by working closely with ecosystem partners, suppliers, and internal cross-functional teams to identify cost reduction opportunities, alternative components, and technology differentiation strategies.
• Lead component engineering and supplier collaboration, enabling best-in-class technologies (e.g., camera, sensor, multimedia, graphics, audio, etc.) to land into production-ready systems.
• Partner with sourcing, supply chain, and finance teams to optimize and improve cost structure, and support component engineering strategies based on technical and system-level insights.
• Conduct system competitive analysis and identify opportunities for platform differentiation through component selection, architecture optimization, and ecosystem leverage.
• Drive issue resolution and production readiness, working across suppliers, partners, and internal teams to push designs successfully through validation and mass production.
• Support customer technical workshops, industry events, and ecosystem engagements, capturing Gen-by-Gen product feedback and translating market insights into platform and system improvements.
• Own or support technical content creation, including solution specifications, application notes, and reference collaterals that reflect optimized BOM and innovative system architecture.
Qualifications:
You should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with 10+ years of experience in system software or component engineering. Additional qualifications include:
• Strong understanding of modern CPU/GPU architectures, client computing platforms, and system-level design
• Proven experience in platform enablement and customer support, with deep understanding of the system software stack from firmware, BIOS, OS, drivers, to application frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience working with suppliers, ODM/OEM partners, and ecosystem vendors, with successful component feature landing in system designs
• Experience in system BOM optimization, cost reduction initiatives, and value engineering, with a track record of driving measurable cost or margin improvements
• Experience in Windows PC development (Windows OS and x86 platforms), with familiarity in features
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder influencing skills, capable of representing technical and business trade-offs at executive and partner levels
• Willingness to travel to customer, partner, and supplier sites as needed

The Software Team drives customer value by enabling differentiated experiences through leadership AI technologies and foundational software stacks, products, and services. The group is responsible for developing the holistic strategy for client and data center software in collaboration with OSVs, ISVs, developers, partners and OEMs. The group delivers specialized NPU IP to enable the AI PC and GPU IP to support all of Intel's market segments. The group also has HW and SW engineering experts responsible for delivering IP, SOCs, runtimes, and platforms to support the CPU and GPU/accelerator roadmap, inclusive of integrated and discrete graphics.
