About the Role

We are seeking a Customer Experience Scientist to play a key role in translating customer needs into innovative solutions. This position sits at the intersection of customer insight, application expertise, and product innovation, ensuring that new technologies and product developments deliver measurable value in real-world customer environments.

Working closely with R&D, marketing, sales, and technical teams, you will help shape the development of new solutions by deeply understanding customer applications, validating product performance, and supporting the innovation stage-gate process.

Key Responsibilities

Lead New Product Blueprinting

Take ownership of the New Product Blueprinting process, identifying and documenting unmet customer needs and translating them into clear product requirements that guide innovation and development.

Application & Customer Insight Expertise

Develop deep technical and application expertise across key customer environments, ensuring product development aligns with real-world operational requirements and customer expectations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with marketing, sales, R&D, and technical teams to define customer requirements, integrate field insights, and ensure the voice of the customer is embedded throughout the product development lifecycle.

Concept & Application Development

Contribute to the concept development phase by designing and executing application tests that replicate real customer usage and validate key performance requirements.

Standardized Field Testing

Design and oversee statistically robust field trials and standardized application testing to assess product performance against defined customer requirements.

Validation & Certification

Lead validation trials under practical customer conditions to ensure new solutions meet critical technical, regulatory, and application-related requirements before market launch.

Scientific Documentation & Communication

Document experimental results, analyses, and conclusions through technical reports, protocols, and scientific documentation. Present findings internally and externally where appropriate.

Continuous Learning & Industry Awareness

Monitor evolving customer needs, regulatory requirements, and industry trends to support the continuous development of innovative cleaning and hygiene solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Industrial & Institutional (I&I) cleaning industry

  • Strong understanding of cleaning chemistry and hygiene applications

  • Experience with direct customer engagement and field testing environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as EPA sanitizer/disinfectant regulations, BPR, USDA sanitation standards, or hand hygiene regulations

  • Understanding of statistical methods, experimental design, and statistical software

  • Experience designing and validating test procedures and application protocols

  • Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) principles and tools

  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills

  • Fluency in English and at least one additional European language
