Custody Account Services, Associate 1

We are looking for a Custody Account officer, reporting directly to the local Head of Custody Management Services in Paris.

In this role, by collaborating daily with colleagues across Europe, Asia, and the US, you will perform a wide range of first level controls across our Custody activity and act as a key operational and client facing contributor within the Paris team.
 

This position is ideal for someone who values precision, accountability, teamwork, and a high quality service mindset — someone who enjoys working in an international environment and developing their expertise step by step.

You don’t need years of experience, just strong analytical skills, attention to detail, good communication abilities, and the ambition to develop within a global financial institution.

This Custody Account officer role is essential because it contributes directly to the quality, reliability, and transparency of our custody operations. As the first line of supervision over multiple operational teams and a direct point of contact for our clients, the Custody Account officer helps maintain accurate records, prevent operational risk, strengthen client confidence, and uphold our global risk culture.

Your work directly supports State Street’s ability to deliver secure, efficient, and client centric services in an increasingly complex environment.

What you will be responsible for

As a Custody Account Services, Associate 1, you will:

• Perform and ensure all required first-level daily controls related to Custody activity
  • Monitor the settlement of instructions and notify Middle Office and/or the client in case of any issue (failed trades follow-up)
  • Verify that all transactions have been duly authorized within required timelines (monitoring of processing queues)
  • Monitor clients’ cash balances: overdrafts, unusual high credit balances
  • Ensure that securities positions show no discrepancies between State Street books and sub-custodians (Stock Record)
  • Check Corporate Actions and bond redemptions that may trigger foreign exchange transactions
  • Ensure completion of all securities and cash reconciliations
  • Follow and update the Custody team checklist

• Perform monthly controls related to Custody activity
  • Analyze monthly interests’ statements (scale of interests)
  • Verify KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) of the different delegations
     
• Understand and use the State Street Custody network
  • Know and master the various query functions across the different State Street applications
  • Leverage support from the different operational centers (Centers of Excellence) to carry out all investigations related to Custody activity
     
• Act as the primary point of contact for our clients regarding any question related to their securities and cash accounts held at State Street
  • Master our Interaction Management Tool (IMT)
  • Manage tax documentation and act as intermediary between our clients, the French Tax Authority, and internal teams working with sub-custodians

=> The account officer is the first level of support for asset management companies and fund administration teams. They are responsible for centralizing all requests and responding to them — either directly when they have the information, or by consulting other internal departments in order to provide the client with a complete and accurate answer.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• We would appreciate applicants from Business Schools having a minimum of knowledge on Securities environment
• Preferred language proficiency in French.
