Grand Canyon Education is seeking a detail-oriented and growth-minded Curriculum Developer I to support the development and enhancement of high‑quality academic courses. This role is designed for an experienced professional who is able to learn and use a variety of technological tools to manage projects and contribute meaningfully to course development and curriculum quality. The Curriculum Developer collaborates with faculty, subject‑matter experts, and internal stakeholders to support learning objective development, course assessments, program alignment, and ongoing course revisions, and plays a key role in seamlessly integrating and optimizing course content within the LMS to enhance the learning experience.

Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:
Must reside in the Phoenix, AZ area

Maps programmatic standards into course design, ensuring requirements are understood and met.

Follows a course revision schedule, using technological and field advancements to help adhere to the course revision schedule.
Adheres to project management guidelines, learning policies and technology processes with supervision.
Maintains communication with stakeholders, with a focus on understanding how to ensure successful project implementation.
Identifies and escalates issues with assistance, gaining experience in resolving problems.
Engages in research and product review, seeking guidance when recommending changes.
Actively participates in learning opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models and methodologies
Ability to facilitate to consensus (act as balancer of interests vs. positions among the many clients involved in a course transformation)

Excellent attention to detail and skills in communication, presentation design and delivery, and data collection and analysis
Results-oriented and able to organize and independently manage various projects simultaneously
Thorough analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills
Able to demonstrate a sufficient level of analytical and strategic thinking to plan and manage designated projects to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
Ability to clearly articulate problems and/or issues and research resolutions prior to management escalation
Able to communicate effectively, provide intelligent and persuasive guidance, and manage each development project to meet both deadlines and quality standards
Thorough knowledge of project management methods and procedures
Excellent skill in Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn additional software as needed.
Excellent knowledge of grammar and command of the English language.
Experience/ Education
Master's degree required (preferably in curriculum or instructional design)
Minimum of 2 years of curriculum development or instructional design experience
