The Opportunity

We are seeking a high-impact Cultivation Manager to lead large scale cultivation operations from clone through to harvest.  This role oversees a team of 50+ employees and is accountable for delivering production targets, quality standards, and cost control through disciplined execution and data driven decision making. The ideal candidate combines deep cultivation expertise with strong operational leadership, KPI management and the ability to drive performance at scale.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a cultivation team of 50+ employees, including multiple direct reports.

  • Build a strong leadership bench within the department.

  • Drive accountability, performance management, and engagement across all levels.

  • Working alongside the Master Grower, oversee all cultivation stages from propagation through flower to harvest.

  • Develop and manage production schedules to meet timelines and output targets.

  • Coordinate daily operations to ensure optimal environmental control, plant health, and workflow efficiency.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the grow.

  • Establish and manage KPIs and OKRs aligned with company production and quality targets.

  • Monitor yield, potency, cycle time, labour efficiency, waste, and cost metrics.

  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions where performance gaps exist.

  • Provide clear reporting to senior leadership on crop performance and operational status.

  • Manage cultivation-related inventory including inputs, consumables, and growing media.

  • Maintain accurate tracking and reconciliation of plant and material movements.

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, including labour and materials.

  • Identify cost-saving and margin-enhancement opportunities.

  • Ensure cultivation activities comply with regulatory, QA, and GACP requirements.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting standards.

  • Apply Lean principles and 5S methodologies to improve efficiency and organization.

  • Optimize labour allocation, room turns, and workflow.

  • Drive a culture of disciplined execution and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing large operational teams

  • Strong cultivation expertise from clone to flower in a commercial setting.

  • Demonstrated experience running projects and daily operations to strict timelines.

  • Experience managing KPIs and OKRs in a production environment.

  • Budget management and inventory control experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Experience with Fiix (CMMS), Workday (HRIS), Priva (BAS), and QMS platforms considered a strong asset.

  • Lean / 5S experience considered an asset.

  • GMP experience considered an asset.

Other Details

This is a full-time position based out of Canopy’s GMP certified Hybrid Greenhouse in Tiverton, ON.

Salary Range: $65,000 to $95,000 CAD
