Description:
Perform high-quality CT imaging procedures for accurate interpretation by the Radiologist.
Verify patient identification, orders, and medical history to ensure proper exam preparation.
Administer contrast materials safely and document procedures, reactions, and medications accurately.
Monitor patients throughout exams, ensuring safety, comfort, and adherence to radiation protection standards (ALARA).
Perform daily equipment warm-up, quality control (QC) checks, and report malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
Accurately archive and verify images in PACS; notify administrators of any imaging or transmission issues.
Collaborate with Radiologists and the CT Coordinator to maintain imaging protocols and support ACR accreditation requirements.
Assist in developing and adjusting exam protocols for adult and pediatric patients in accordance with regulatory and safety guidelines.
Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies and linens, ensuring readiness of the CT suite.
Provide guidance and training to new staff and imaging students during clinical rotations.
Adhere to all hospital policies, safety procedures, and infection control standards.
Participate in required training programs, emergency preparedness, and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Associate degree
Current American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) Registry in Radiography RT(R)
Current Commonwealth of Kentucky Radiation License with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.
One or two years in Special Imaging Preferred
Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS)-American Heart Association within 90 days
Must obtain Advanced ARRT Registry in Computed Tomography (CT) within 1 year
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)-(RDMS certification in Abdomen or Vascular within 1 year)
