Cross Dock Operator

The Cross-Dock Operator is responsible for handling our customers' freight in a safe and efficient manner, maintaining dock systems and shipment data, and prioritizing daily dock operations. The ideal candidate for this position would be an individual that is driven to improve operational efficiencies at the dock level, and with a desire to grow into a future dock leadership role. 

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • To work in accordance with all Bison policies and procedures.
  • Safe operation of all equipment.
  • Completing load transfers either with forklift or by hand.
  • Freight validation and paperwork management, as well as updating the Bison system correctly in a timely manner.
  • Tracking and tracing of inbound and outbound moves at the dock using Bison systems & tools for both Truckload (TL) and Less Than Truckload (LTL) and prioritizing accordingly as to minimize failures or missed deliveries.
  • Manifesting of inbound and outbound moves from the dock and communicating appropriately, including uploading and downloading of manifests through Bison systems.
  • Completion of a daily dock audit, including noting outstanding Overages, Shortages, and Damages (OS&D), and communicating appropriately to coordinator or supervisor to ensure items are being acted upon.
  • Complete and submit daily activity log to LTL Coordinator or LTL Supervisor.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping in and around the facility.
  • Engage in other activities as assigned by the LTL Supervisor or Terminal Manager.

Our Ideal Candidate will possess:

  • Previous experience in a cross/dock warehouse environment.
  • Hold a valid forklift license.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on relationship building among both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Adaptable to change as this position will be in a constantly growing and changing area of the business.
  • Intermediate skill level in data entry, and strong competence in being able to navigate around computer systems.

Shift: Monday to Friday, 06:00 - 14:30 PST.
