Fixed Term Contract - Maternity Cover

MAIN PURPOSE:
To underwrite and support placement of business on AXIS Specialty Europe SE (“ASE”) Dublin platform, including the administration and oversight of risks referred to ASE.

Role offers opportunity to multi-line underwrite across a broad range of products and services. Key lines of business include, Renewable Energy, Professional Indemnity, Financial Institutions, Marine Cargo, Property & Casualty.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and underwriting decision responsibility for risks referred to ASE Dublin

  • Support transfer of EEA business from AXIS London to ASE where appropriate and in line with corporate underwriting appetite and appropriate regulatory guidelines

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with underwriters and brokers

  • Ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and guidelines, including developing a clear understanding of ASE licensing capabilities, limitations, and specific requirements for different territories

  • Support BREXIT Steering team in providing compliant processes and solutions

  • Contribution to the business plan and team objectives

  • Support AXIS business functions with various legal entity reporting requirements

  • Comply and work within established operating model workflows to ensure smooth and efficient work process and service

  • Training in and mentoring interns and junior members of staff



REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • Undergraduate degree level or equivalent higher education qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in underwriting

  • Experience in one or more key lines of business an advantage

  • Strong analytical and technical skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and team-spirited approach

  • Time management - ability to handle multiple priorities, organize work and meet deadlines

  • Highly proficient in IT literacy especially the Microsoft Office suite applications
