St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne is seeking a number of passionate and experienced critical care nurses to join the Nurse Workforce Unit’s Casual Nurse Bank team (Intensive Care Unit stream).
About the Intensive Care Unit
St Vincent’s ICU is an innovative, tertiary ICU in the heart of Melbourne and is next to the cafe-packed Gertrude St. The ICU is funded for 15 ICU equivalent patients which allows up to 19 patients to be admitted at any time, with the flexibility to provide a combination of 1:1 and 1:2 nursing care, depending on patient acuity. St Vincent’s ICU admits over 1700 patients per year of which 50% come from operating theatres, 20% from Emergency, 15% from wards and 15% from inter-hospital transfer. The unit is supported by medical and surgical services that include cardiac surgery (contributing roughly 25% of ICU admissions) and neurosurgery. Therapies provided to patients include invasive ventilation, cardiac support, haemofiltration and ECMO.

About the Position
Working in a dynamic, fast-paced setting, you will be required to use your exceptional clinical skills to efficiently and accurately plan, coordinate and evaluate care needs to ensure high quality care in a rapidly changing environment.
We are looking for postgraduate qualified critical care nurses for a casual role. The casual nature of employment allows for flexible rostering with 8, 10 or 12 hour day or night shifts available, depending on supplementary staffing demand.
As a new member to St Vincent’s ICU you will linked in with a mentor through our formal SinC Mentorship program to help your transition to the unit a positive one.
Classifications for the RN position will range from ZU3 - ZU11 ($67527.2 - $95,378.40 per annum) pro rata.

As an experienced, motivated and passionate Critical Care Nurse you will bring demonstrated knowledge and commitment to a patient-centred care framework. Your excellent communication, time management and prioritisation skills will allow you to facilitate team outcomes in a multidisciplinary environment. You will be agile and have strong problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation abilities that will allow you to be adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
