Pay Range
$28.05 - $42.10EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Associates degree in Emergency Medical Science or related field required. Bachelors degree in related area preferred. Five years experience in emergency services and/or critical care transport required. Teaching and leadership experience required. Management experience preferred. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: Current licensure/certification to practice as an EMT-Paramedic in the State of applicable state. American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, ACLS, PALS, applicable state EMT-P level II Instructor certifications required. ITLS, PITLS, NRP instructor certifications preferred. REPORTS TO: Program Manager, Critical Care Transport ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Please list 10-12 accountabilities with no bullet points) 1. Provides patient/family centered care focusing on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. This includes rapid evaluation of life threatening emergencies, implementation of prescribed therapies within scope of practice, collaboration with nursing and medical teams to establish treatment goals. 2. Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment through ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior. Utilizes and promotes the use of technology and equipment to enhance the safety of patients and staff. 3. Communicates effectively to promote sharing of information throughout the continuum of care and as an effective member of the healthcare team. 4. Demonstrates the ability to function in a professional setting through active participation in a professional practice model. This includes participating in shared governance, adherence to standards of care, participation in peer review and professional development promoting leadership and clinical excellence, effective team skills, autonomous practice and acknowledgment of accountability for actions and critical thinking. 5. Acts as a patient advocate throughout the continuum of care including all patient settings and in the community. 6. Identifies clinical priorities and initiates action to improve patient outcomes. 7. Perform Peer review and QI functions on charts as needed. 8. Reinforces policies and procedures, protocols and guidelines with staff. 9. Ensures compliance with OEMS rules and regulations related to scope of practice. 10. Coordinates in conjunction with the Nurse Managers to assess for process improvement opportunities. 11. Provides population specific team educational programs in informal, on-site settings. 12. Ensures the quality of professional services by demonstrating and maintaining competency through updating knowledge and skills and continuing professional growth. 13. Collaborates with manager, other educators and preceptors to design, implement and evaluate the teams? orientation plan. 14. Assures competency is achieved and maintained. Competency assurance and assessment is essential.
