The U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of Texas, is hiring a criminal prosecutors to work on investigations and prosecutions relating to immigration, drug trafficking, and human trafficking. There are two positions that will be located in one or more of the following locations: Beaumont, Plano, Sherman, or Tyler, TX. Additional positions may be filled using this announcement.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D. Degree (or equivalent), be an active member in good standing of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction) and have at least one-year post-J.D. (or equivalent) legal or other relevant experience. A minimum of 3-years post-J.D. (or equivalent) legal or other relevant experience is required. United States citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications: Hiring preference will be given to applicants with prior felony trial experience and those who have demonstrated the ability to prosecute from the initial investigative stage through trial. Applicants must demonstrate a quick analytical ability to accurately and precisely articulate the critical issues in a case. Applicants must demonstrate superior oral and writing skills, as well as strong research and interpersonal skills, and good judgment. Applicants must possess excellent communication and courtroom skills and exhibit the ability to work in a supportive and professional manner with other attorneys, support staff, and client agencies. You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.
