Job Description:

The Credit Underwriter II is responsible for the ongoing management and primary accountability for all monitoring and maintenance activities for an assigned portfolio of commercial real estate loans, primarily consisting of larger/complex client relationships. They monitor the operating performance and financial conditions of existing commercial real estate facilities to proactively identify issues and opportunities. The Credit Underwriter II deliver financial, industry, economic and other analysis to facilitate decision making and inform risk rating recommendations, while also ensuring adherence to credit policies, guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Credit Underwriter II is responsible for providing underwriting analysis and approval recommendations for various Borrower requests related to assigned client base/facilities. The Credit Underwriter II demonstrates strong judgement, sound credit skills, and is an active participant with the Credit Team in the credit approval process for complex clients/transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the credit analysis process with the support of other analysts and associates
  • Partners with Credit Officers, Relationship Management, and Risk teammates to understand structuring needs and requirements
  • Monitors operating performance and financial condition, proactively identifying issues and opportunities
  • Assists in delivery of financial modeling, loan structure, industry, economic, and other analyses to team members to support the loan decision-making process
  • Reviews work of junior teammates to provide feedback/coaching and ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations and policy procedure
  • May have primary coverage responsibility for a portfolio of clients with credit approval for certain credit actions
  • Participate in loan structure conversations and completion of loan documentation with internal/external legal partners
  • Executes post‑close credit activities, including documenting conditions, administering approved extensions, and coordinating related legal documentation
  • Performs comprehensive portfolio monitoring and maintenance activities, including covenant compliance, construction and collateral reviews, financial and guarantor analysis, and ongoing risk assessment
  • Contributes to process improvement and simplification initiatives to enhance portfolio oversight, credit execution, and operational efficiency

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years commercial credit financial analysis and portfolio management experience
  • 5+ years of financial accounting, financial modeling or loan structuring.
  • Commercial Credit Training

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or similar
  • Certificate from accredited real estate educational program
  • Large money center bank experience
  • CRE portfolio management experience

Pay and benefits information

Pay range

$80,000.00 - $135,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
