The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and analytical candidate to join our Loss Forecasting & Stress Testing team. As a Credit Risk Analytics Manager II, you will support the execution and maintenance of analytical models, contribute to data gathering and analysis, and help prepare risk management reports. You will have the opportunity to gain exposure to quantitative credit, financial analytics, as well as predictive modeling techniques. This position offers a valuable learning experience within a dynamic banking environment, working closely with senior team members to support risk assessments and the challenge process for risk and strategy proposals. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in San Antonio, TX, or Plano, TX.

What you'll do:

  • Applies analytical skills to assess risks and opportunities for a Bank consumer portfolio and translates results into recommendations.
  • Effectively develops analytical concepts in support of key stakeholders to deliver on bank risk strategies.
  • Conducts quantitative analysis utilizing extensive internal and external data sources.
  • Develops qualitative analysis to support departmental decision making.
  • Researches credit, product, and/or risk proposals and utilizes critical thinking skills to provide analysis ensuring strong portfolio performance outcomes.
  • Builds and/or maintains effective risk management frameworks which can identify, measure, or mitigate risk.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive risk reporting in support of management and committee oversight of existing and emerging risks.
  • May develop and/or execute financial risk sensitivity analysis.
  • May execute credit and/or financial modeling infrastructure.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 2 years experience in an analytical field or focused on risk management execution, analytics or risk assessments; OR an advanced degree in a quantitative, scientific, engineering, business or technical field; OR an equivalent level of demonstrated competencies in leading risk management execution, analytics and risk assessments.
  • Experience communicating analytical insights to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills with various data to problem solve effectively.
  • Basic understanding of data, code, or reporting tools.

What sets you apart:

  • Basic familiarity with SQL.
  • Familiar with Python or R.
  • Ability to query and analyze date.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point).

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $77,120 - $147,390.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

 

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
