The “Credit Controller Analyst I'' at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. offers an outstanding opportunity to engage in world-class financial operations within our Order to Cash Department. You will play a pivotal role in managing credit exposure and ensuring flawless collection of trade debt for the NA Region. Manage a high-complexity customer portfolio, ensuring compliance with payment terms and credit limits applying ERP systems.
Conduct risk assessments on new and existing accounts, recommending appropriate credit limits and terms.
Assist in achieving annual collections targets and support credit risk assessments.
Track unapplied/unidentified payments and perform expert financial statement analysis.
Coordinate the "Credit Hold" process and release orders based on credit analysis.
Establish credit terms for new clients and advance extended payment term requests.
Negotiate payment plans and liaise with customers and the commercial department.
Identify and analyze credit notes, debit notes, and cash applications.
Facilitate payment of invoices by credit card and ensure accurate invoice uploads.
Execute the coding of predefined activities within the appropriate systems to ensure visibility of customer invoice status.
Comply with collection strategies established by management through account analysis and proper follow-up of defined processes.
Reconcile customer account statements (high-complexity portfolio), including debits and credits, to identify past-due balances or overdue invoices; provide updated statements to customers to maintain transparency and prevent uncollectible balances.
Analyze accounts and provide recommendations to supervisors regarding uncollectible balances after exhausting all collection efforts, facilitating transition to external collection agencies or legal processes.
Provide support and perform any additional tasks required based on business needs.
Lead web billing systems and collaborate with customers to resolve inquiries.
Prepare statements and reports for the company accountant.
Manage email communications with customers, prioritizing and coordinating effectively.
Inform supervisor of uncollectable accounts for third-party collection processes.
Support training of new employees and participate in updating process documentation.
Find opportunities to improve departmental processes and support local and global projects.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
4+ years of experience in Credit, Collections, or related fields (Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Mathematics) preferred; a High School Diploma is required, and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field will be considered.
Proven experience in credit analysis and shared service centers.
B2+ English proficiency (must).
Proficiency with MS Office package.
Additional Desirable Requirements
Experience using ERP systems.
Experience with Cforia.
Capability to generate and develop reports.
Experience in portals such Ariba, Taulia Etc.
