Join our Tax & Legal Services (TLS) team in Auckland in this 12-month fixed-term opportunity, where you’ll help strengthen financial discipline, reduce aged debt and improve working capital outcomes across a large and fast-paced practice. 

This role combines hands-on credit control with problem solving, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement, and offers the chance to help shape stronger ways of working across TLS. You’ll work closely with partners, engagement teams and finance stakeholders to improve financial hygiene, build better habits around WIP and billing, and create greater visibility and accountability across the practice. 

Your day-to-day could include: 

  • Leading collections activity on aged debt, working directly with clients and internal stakeholders to resolve outstanding invoices and payment issues 

  • Partnering with partners and engagement teams to improve WIP management, billing quality and debtor outcomes 

  • Analysing debtor, billing and working capital data to identify trends, risks and practical next steps 

  • Preparing clear reporting and insights to support weekly reviews and monthly working capital discussions 

  • Driving improvements to billing standards, financial hygiene and bill-to-cash processes across the practice 

  • Coaching teams on billing practices, financial discipline, and stronger working capital habits.

  • Experience in credit control, accounts receivable or commercial finance operations, ideally in a complex, client-facing or professional services environment 

  • A proven ability to recover aged debt, resolve billing issues and manage client queries with confidence and professionalism 

  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret financial data, spot trends and turn insight into action 

  • Confidence influencing senior stakeholders and building accountability across a broad group of partners and business leaders 

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems, billing tools and client e-billing platforms
