The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and verifying all aspects of the credentialing process for healthcare practitioners for the AlbanyMed CVO. This includes maintaining the integrity of the provider database for accurate information and a reporting of credentialed providers. In addition, this position shall provide input for process design to create workflow efficiencies as well as supporting other implementation activities. This position will work with various other departments to ensure accuracy of information received as well as send data to other receiving areas. Works in a team-based department to complete all compliance & time sensitive requirements necessary to maintain the organization’s accreditation.

Education Requirements:
•    High School or GED, Associate degree preferred
•    Minimum 3-5 years administrative office experience required
•    3-5 years related hospital and/or managed care credentialing experience preferred

Qualifications:
•    Knowledge of Medical Staff & Provider credentialing and its direct impact 
•    Excellent computer skills; credentialing software system experience preferred
•    Detail oriented with above average organizational skills
•    Plans and prioritizes to meet deadlines
•    Excellent customer service skills; communicates clearly and effectively
•    Able to work independently and work as part of team to accomplish tasks
