Credentialing Specialists within Albany Med Health System work within the Albany Med Campus for employed providers and the system affiliates. This position also includes working with the private medical staff that wish to hold privileges here at AMC and CMH. This is a very busy office that helps onboard the best medical staff in the area to the largest Hospital system in area.

Education Requirements:
• High School or GED, Associate degree preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years administrative office experience required
• 3-5 years related hospital and/or managed care credentialing experience preferred

Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Medical Staff & Provider credentialing and its direct impact
• Excellent computer skills; credentialing software system experience preferred
• Detail oriented with above average organizational skills
• Plans and prioritizes to meet deadlines
• Excellent customer service skills; communicates clearly and effectively
• Able to work independently and work as part of team to accomplish

The ideal candidate will be able to multitask and have experience with credentialing and onboarding providers to a busy medical practice. The office works on license verifications, sanction screenings, education and identity proofing for candidates. The credentialing specialist will be responsible for a caseload of applications for new and reappointment packets in an ongoing basis and will work within a team and independently. Dedication to timelines and adherence to protocols and policies is extremely important. Previous Medical Office work is required , credentialing experience a plus.
