About the Role:

The Creative Strategy Manager will be responsible for expanding Dr. Squatch’s performance creative team’s efforts to new regions, new paid media channels, and new audiences. This role will help develop direct response ad creative for regions like the UK, media channels like AppLovin, and new audiences like Gen-Z.

Candidates must be thoroughly versed in paid creative strategy in a Direct To Consumer environment (either experience working at a DTC brand OR performance marketing agency). This role requires a strong knowledge of performance creative practices and a track record of making winning ads with consistency and urgency. Candidates must also have a strong creative background, as this role requires a great deal of ideation and execution through our creative team.

This role will report to the Director of Performance Creative.

This is a full-time, hybrid role with company benefits based in Marina del Rey, CA.

The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $110,000 to $140,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.

What You'll Do:

  • Write / generate around 8-12 creative concepts per week – scripted specifically for target regions, platforms, or audiences
  • Own strategic areas by channel or region
  • Mentor and coach team in best performance practices – including junior creatives, editors, and producers
  • Source and adapt trends and conduct research on best practices for areas of expansion
  • Prepare research and present to team leadership or broader marketing team.
  • Work independently to understand what works in the target areas, and proactively develop a plan to discover and optimize performance
  • Take input from multiple stakeholders to set goals and fulfill needs for areas of growth
  • Communicate with creative individuals and collaborate to produce excellent ad creatives.

About You:

  • 4-7 years of experience at a direct to consumer brand or performance agency
  • Excellent direct-response writing skills – can write for personas, inhabit brand voice, or adapt voices of competitors to drive sales for the company.
  • Desire for excellence – hunger to win and make a great creative ad product. Ability to pivot if things are not working. 
  • Energetic, witty, and a good sense of humor – these are in line with our brand.
  • Gets things done without perfect resources, is innovative, and works with a sense of urgency
  • Proactively help others, stays positive
  • A desire to grow beyond your role – and act as an overall leader for the team
