Reporting into the Executive Director of International Content at The Trust, this role leads and oversees client services, production and project management of branded content programs across the International market.
Working closely with our Editorial, Design, Development, Performance, Planning, Integrated Marketing and Sales teams—as well ensuring a link between International and U.S. processes—the Director of Creative Operations, International ensures all branded content ideas come to life on-time and within-budget, leading a team offering first-class service for clients from I.O. to launch.
This role is a leadership role, charged with overseeing and optimizing our processes—maintaining high-levels of client service and production excellence, leading process and strategy improvement and escalating issues appropriately when needed. This position will oversee a team of Creative Operations Managers across Europe and Asia. Responsible for aligning internal and external processes across these teams, the Director of Creative Operations, International also plays a crucial role in assisting the growth of client relationships, understanding the nuanced cultural needs across our markets. This role is responsible for ensuring our processes and systems are aligned, maintaining oversight on client handling style and ensuring all projects are compliant and run alongside well-managed budgets and timelines. The work spans a diverse range of content, from written work to films and audio stories.
Responsibilities:
Manage an international team of around 4 Creative Operations Managers
Set the tone for International client communications, where Creative Operations serve as the single point of contact and “safe pair of hands” for all sold campaigns
Ensure consistency of the client experience across all teams, from kick off through to completion—making sure that timelines, deliverables and expectations are aligned and communicated
Problem solve complex client needs, being the first point of contact and escalation when fixing these
From project brief to delivery, lead relationships and modes of communication with cross-functional teams across Dow Jones: including, but not limited to, sales,content, events, planning and intelligence
Ensure compliance and accuracy across internal and external timelines, budgets and contracts
Establish and lead appropriate vendor relations processes (and account for any difference across labor markets)
Ensure cross-border compliance for vendors, visas, fixers, vaccinations and all aspects of international production—escalating any concerning issues or seeking consultation around complexity
Lead and implement any process or system changes that improve client experience or project efficiencies, including optimization of current processes alongside specific client/regional needs
Collaborate on the feasibility of project pitched in pre-sale, working with the Creative Director on optimal production solutions that can help client needs come to life—taking in the experience of a previous client campaigns and performance
Lead complex client campaigns—and oversee all campaigns—managing the production and delivery of mixed deliverable campaign assets, including original articles, custom landing pages, videos, animations, podcasts, and more
Manage internal and external stakeholder needs and expectations through establishing proactive and ongoing communication styles
Take responsibility for the resourcing of the creative operations team and external vendors to ensure campaigns are produced and delivered on time and to budget
Skills & Experience:
10 years of experience in creative project management/production (in-house or agency)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Proven track record for strong creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to set priorities, problem solve, multi-task and work in a rapidly changing environment
Solid organizational and management skills, with the capability to lead and collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams on complex projects
Strong experience in program management and communication tools such as Asana, Monday.com, Trello, Slack, Jira or similar
Strong understanding of media and content is a plus
International business experience a plus
