Role Summary

The Create Leader, India is responsible for building and owning the operational standards, processes, and continuous improvement framework for Xometry's India operations. This is a foundational role: you will help design, codify and establish India's operational infrastructure, ensuring it meets global quality and performance standards. The role requires someone who can operate as both an architect (designing systems) and a builder (executing hands-on in a lean environment), transitioning India operations from startup to a scalable steady-state.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Standards & Process Design

  • Design, document, and implement operational standards (SOPs, process maps, business rules) for the India market, aligned with Xometry's global standards
  • Identify and prioritize key workflows across the customer journey and drive end-to-end standardization
  • Publish and maintain operational playbooks that enable teams to execute consistently and predictably
  • Ensure processes are scalable and adaptable as India operations grow

Operational Performance & Governance

  • Establish the operational rhythm for India: regular performance reviews, retrospectives, and structured problem-solving cadences
  • Define, track, and drive improvement on key operational metrics (on-time delivery, quality, throughput, efficiency)
  • Build dashboards and reporting in partnership with Analytics to ensure real-time visibility into operational performance
  • Own the performance narrative for India operations and proactively identify and address gaps

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead structured improvement initiatives using root-cause analysis and evidence-based methodologies
  • Set objectives and initiative plans aligned with company-wide priorities
  • Partner with Technology teams to identify automation opportunities and reduce manual effort
  • Drive cross-functional execution of improvement projects to measurable completion

Training, Embedding & Adoption

  • Ensure operational standards are not just documented but actively used, with measurable adoption rates
  • Deliver training programs and manage change to drive compliance across India teams
  • Build feedback loops with customers, partners, and internal teams to continuously refine standards

Technology & Automation Partnership

Partner with Technology to identify and deliver:

  • Zero-touch workflows
  • Automation opportunities
  • Workflow simplification
  • Systematically remove work that should not require human intervention

Stakeholder Management

Act as the single source of truth between India Ops, APAC Ops, EMEA Create, and Global Tech

Maintain clear separation between:

  • Who builds standards
  • Who executes standards

Collaborate closely with Run teams without owning daily execution

Foundational Setup (Market Entry Phase)

As India is in its market-entry stage, this role will also contribute to establishing core operational foundations:

  • Planning framework setup: objectives, key metrics, and operating model definition
  • Manufacturing partner network operations: onboarding, quality assurance, and performance management processes
  • Logistics and warehouse processes: internal workflows, packaging infrastructure, and systems readiness
  • Compliance and safety: health, safety, and regulatory compliance aligned with local requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, manufacturing operations, process management or continuous improvement, or operations strategy
  • Hands-on experience designing and scaling complex operational workflows
  • Proven experience building operational standards
  • Strong understanding of operational excellence: Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, or equivalent methodologies
  • Excellent process design and documentation skills: ability to create clear, comprehensive SOPs and process standards
  • Experience defining and managing KPIs, performance dashboards, and data-driven operational reviews
  • Proven ability to operate in cross-functional, matrix organizations
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects with strong communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field

Strong Plus

  • Experience in B2B marketplaces, manufacturing, supply chain, or platform businesses
  • Exposure to automation and digital operations initiatives
  • Global or regional operations experience
  • Lean / Six Sigma / Operations Strategy background (certification optional, mindset essential)

What We're Looking For

You thrive in ambiguity and build structure where none exists. You are not looking for a role where everything is already defined; you are energized by the opportunity to create the playbook, not just follow it. You combine operational rigor with the pragmatism needed in a fast-scaling environment. You can toggle between strategic design and tactical execution. You hold yourself and others to high standards of quality, ownership, and follow-through.
