Enabling commercial to manage risk and ensure quality is the purpose of Pfizer’s Commercial Quality (CQ) organization. This purpose accompanies a bold aspiration, to set the industry standard for commercial quality across commercial programs and operations. The CQ organization provide Quality Consulting and Quality Oversight to commercial colleagues globally across pharmacovigilance, and promotional practices, this includes:

•        Effective management of current and emerging commercial compliance risk

•        Operationalizing global policies and procedures related to commercial quality

•        Monitoring quality across commercial activities and ensuring audit & inspection readiness

•        Identification and management of quality events

•        Establishing an integrated approach for quality improvement & optimized customer quality experience

ROLE SUMMARY

 The CQ International Markets Lead is accountable for the flawless execution of CQ services including policy consultation and program design for company sponsored programs (CSPs), patient support programs (PSPs) and the review and approval of promotional content to enable Pfizer’s commercial business to manage risk and ensure quality.

The CQ International Markets Lead is accountable for developing and implementing local support strategies and leading a team of CQ colleagues (supporting all CQ related processes) to deliver high quality, audit ready and cost efficient CQ services. The CQ International Markets Lead has an accountability to maintain a state of control and be audit and inspection ready.

This role will be an active thought leader in commercial quality, drawing upon best practice to identify new ways of working and drive continuous improvement. The CQ International Markets Lead will provide insights to senior regional stakeholders (e.g., Commercial Offices and senior in market leaders) on the state of control driving increased commercial accountability.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

 Accountable for:

  • Defining and implementing strategic direction to enable Quality consultation and support for design, review and approval of commercial programs (CSPs, PSPs) and the review and approval (R&A) of promotional content.

  • Transforming the promotional content R&A model post-Adobe implementation supporting commercial goals within organizational and local standards and regulations.

This role will lead a diverse team of colleagues to deliver high quality services and programs to enable the commercial business.

Core Responsibilities

  • Drive implementation of CQ policies, procedures and initiatives across the International Markets.  This includes:

    • Provide design guidance for commercial programs to optimize the risk and benefit balance 

    • Consultation and guidance on matters related to the Global Content Policy and local review and approval requirements and ways of working

    • Local Content Policy & Addendum management, oversight, and maintenance

    • Local market Review and Approval Workflow support and expertise

  • Quality Event (‘QE’) facilitation and response for promotional materials and content

  • Maintain and update local review and approval procedures in response to changes in local / regional regulations

  • Effectively manage service demand for international markets to ensure optimal allocation of available capacity

  • Accountable for change management and communication within the international markets

  • Act as single point of escalation and a subject-matter expert for CQ Leads within the international markets providing in-depth knowledge and consultancy to drive overall culture of quality and compliance, and if required escalate all pertinent initiatives to the relevant CQ stakeholders

Audit & Inspection Outcomes and Issue Remediation

  • Ensure all international markets are audit and inspection ready for all in-scope quality areas

  • As the subject matter expert, act as the escalation point to resolve local audit related queries

  • Direct effective management and implementation of remediation activity within international markets

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as single point of contact and subject-matter expert on quality related matters for international market leadership, providing in-depth knowledge and consultancy on commercial quality (CSP, PSP and Review and Approval of Promotional Content) and visibility of the state of control.

  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships across international market senior regional and local commercial stakeholders and business partners (e.g., Legal, Digital, Safety, Privacy, Compliance)

  • Represent CQ at appropriate regional governance bodies to escalate relevant risks

  • Proactively engage the regional and global CQ community to exchange best practices and lessons learned and promote collaboration across countries

People Management

  • Empower, inspire and lead a team of CQ colleagues (leader of leaders) to deliver CQ services and support commercial activities while fostering a culture of excellence

  • Drive risk-based resource allocation within the international markets including optimizing in-market vs. above-market delivery of CQ services

  • Ensure CQ colleagues have the required skills and resources to effectively execute their responsibilities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree; preferred discipline(s): Science, Business Studies/Management, Information Technology

  • Significant relevant experience, including experience in pharma, encompassing sales and marketing operations

  • Understand the fundamentals of the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory requirements and risk management

  • High level of subject matter expertise in PV and Promotional practices

  • Extensive experience in quality and compliance

  • Experience in process design and service integration

  • Proven ability to influence without authority, a wide range of stakeholders

  • Demonstrated extensive experience senior stakeholder engagement, alignment, and facilitating conflict

  • Demonstrated strategic thought leadership & ability to drive transformation and lead change

  • Fluent in English language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience of working across cultures and multiple time zones

  • Experience of quality service delivery

  • Consulting experience

  • Strong analytical skills: ability to analyze information, draw insights and recommend improvements; ability to synthesize problems and develop innovative solutions and strategies

  • Proficient in common technical tools (e.g. Microsoft Office)

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Given the global nature of the role, (limited) international travel and working outside of normal work times will be required.
