Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining and operating Co Product Line packaging equipment. Part of the responsibilities of this position will also include giving direction to handpackers and daily activities as they relate to safety, quality, production, and maintenance.
Job Description
Individuals in this position must:
Follow all plant safety policies and procedures. Be actively involved in safety, participate in safety programs, engaged in safety activities, perform risk assessments and demonstrate ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members.
Actively participate in AMD activities that involve the Co-Product packaging area.
Know basic operation of the Co Product packaging equipment and the ability to start, stop and clear stoppages for the Aspen Robot System, Kliklok Tray Formers, Wexxar, Kalfass, & Schneider and Goodman casepackers.
Set and adjust Carton and Case Coders, Metal Detector, and Carton Check Weigher.
Know and follow all lock out/tag out procedures for assigned work area.
Perform maintenance and sanitation duties during scheduled plant downtimes as required.
Assist mechanic with Co Product packaging equipment repairs.
Troubleshoot overall systems as required to determine the cause of failures and make minor repairs and/or adjustments to electrical control systems.
Maintain floors, catwalks, handrails and other walkways in a clean and safe manner.
Complete all required paperwork and maintain equipment inspections such as centerline and CIL’s.
Follow good housekeeping practices and GMP's.
Wear required PPE.
Any other duties as assigned by a Team Leader

Sanitation qualification is required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained.
Lock-out/Tag-out qualification is required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained.
Read, understand, and obey all plant rules and practice safety as outlined in the employee handbook.
Practice proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques.
Be knowledgeable of the potential hazards and safety procedures associated with the task being performed.
Actively practice and abide by all Company work, safety, and personal hygiene rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
Must be able to work independently and as a team player, be organized, and plan ahead.
Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Language Skills
Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English.

Will regularly work near moving mechanical parts.
