Court Statistics Analyst

The Court Statistics Analyst is responsible for managing the caseload statistics program through the collection, verification, and analysis of caseload data from state and county data sources. This role collaborates with AOPC/Information Technology and third-party case management system vendors to specify data extractions for recurring and ad-hoc reporting. The Court Statistics Analyst provides operational data and business analytics to judicial leadership. This position also facilitates the public’s access to information through web-based reports and interactive data dashboards on a monthly, annual, and ad-hoc basis. The Analyst ensures that caseload data are properly interpreted and is responsible for the training and education of county data reporters on AOPC caseload statistical reporting requirements. This position communicates research findings and delivers training to justice system stakeholders and partners both in-person and virtually.

Job Duties

  • Collects caseload and other court statistics from county data reporters and automated case management systems.

  • Advises and trains county court personnel on reporting practices, procedures, and data definitions.  Engages with county case management system vendors on AOPC reporting requirements. 

  • Verifies court data through systematic error checks, comparative analysis, and qualitative inquiry.

  • Develops data visualizations and reports using an array of software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite, SPSS, and Tableau.

  • Assists in the design and publication of court statistical reports in print and electronic formats.

  • Supports judicial committees and work groups as research staff.

  • Completes quantitative and qualitative studies, including developing and testing data collection instruments, building datasets, statistical analyses, and survey methodologies.

  • Responds to data inquiries from internal and external requestors.

  • Attends and presents at state and national professional conferences to support professional development and build and maintain professional networks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with major course work in research methods and statistics; AND

  • Two years of experience in the field of statistics, professional research, or data analysis.

  • An equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training may be considered.

Additional Requirements/Preferences

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Public Administration, or Data Science/Analytics or a closely related field preferred.

  • Working knowledge of SPSS and Tableau preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.

  • Satisfactory criminal background check required.

Starting Annual Salary

$61,926 - $75,020
