Your Opportunity

Make a real difference in people’s lives through meaningful support.

We’re looking for a compassionate and experienced Counselling Coordinator to lead and deliver high-quality therapeutic support for individuals facing complex challenges such as homelessness, mental health concerns, and alcohol and other drug use.

In this dynamic role, you’ll combine hands-on counselling with program coordination, volunteer leadership, and service development—ensuring clients receive the support they need to move forward.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Conduct intake, assessment and referral processes
  • Provide one-on-one counselling services to clients with complex needs
  • Coordinate referrals and match clients with appropriate volunteer counsellors
  • Develop and review group content using evidence-based approaches
  • Coordinate the delivery of therapeutic group programs
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of skilled volunteer counsellors and facilitators
  • Support a safe, ethical, and client-centred counselling environment
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, confidentiality and reporting obligations

Requirements for Success

  • Relevant qualification in counselling and valid registration (AHPRA/ACA/PACFA)
  • Ability to manage complex client caseloads and deliver therapeutic interventions
  • Experience developing and facilitating group programs
  • Experience working in areas such as homelessness, mental health or AOD
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem solving skills
  • Strong Case management experience and understanding of homelessness
  • A valid NSW Driver’s Licence and WWCC

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
