We’re seeking a full‑time Counseling Program Manager who will play a key role in driving the daily operations of GCU’s Counseling programs. What you will do:

  • Coordinate all aspects of a “program” to achieve stated goals.

  • Responsible for drafting program/process guidelines and documenting all needed guidelines to achieve any accreditation needed.

  • Coordinate data collection, analysis, and preparation of required reports regarding programs.

  • Prepare documents required for approval of new or revised academic programs or initiatives.

  • Serve on counseling related committees as needed.

  • Contact/Liaison for NBCC and students for national exam information. 

  • Provide administrative oversight of practicum and internship clinical site supervisors, ensuring verification of qualifications, licensure, supervision training, and documentation in compliance with accreditation standards.

  • Assist with review and update of practicum and internship policies, procedures, and trainings.

  • Assist in addressing practicum and internship concerns raised by students, site supervisors, practicum, and practicum/internship course faculty supervisors, etc.  

  • Responsible for maintaining partnerships and communication with the Office of Field Experience (OFE), Faculty Training and Development (FT&D), Faculty Services (FS), and other GCE related support services. 

  • Responsible for all student academic data analysis

  • Assist faculty and college/university administration with creating improvement plans to enhance student learning/performance.

  • Facilitate the programmatic review.

  • Track all student data, e.g., withdrawals, failure

  • Develop report format and presentation format as required to present data for decision making

  • Participate in academic committee meetings as appropriate

  • Recommend and execute improvements for academic internal processes within college.

  • Serve as the key liaison with programmatic issues and informs college/university administration as appropriate.

  • Troubleshoot student issues through research and internal investigation and ensures a high level of student service.

  • May intervene in course/class substitution to ensure resources are available to maintain classroom learning.

  • May act as primary contact for all student and practicum/intern issues related to programs and is responsible for coordinating the resolution of student issues at the college level. Ensures that students receive a response within a reasonable period.

  • May be involved in outreach activities or campus activities which contribute to campus life and student/staff engagement.

  • Support the program by updating all collateral material, catalog, websites, and provides key information updates to all.

  • Delegates/assigns projects to others as necessary.

  • Assist with the hiring, supervision, and evaluation of student workers or other resources needed to achieve program objectives. Delegates/assigns projects to others as necessary.

What you need:

  • Master’s degree in professional counseling, clinical mental health counseling, school counseling, or other related counseling degree.

  • Licensed in a counseling related field such as professional counseling.

  • Two or more years of experience in the counseling field.

  • One or more years of post-secondary academic experience in any capacity. 

  • Knowledge of Internet software and Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge of academic platforms and related tools/software.

  • Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of mangers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Must be able to pass preemployment investigations.

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
