What you’ll contribute to
We have an exciting permanent, full‑time opportunity for an experienced Corporate Solicitor to join our Finance, Procurement & Legal Division.
The Finance, Procurement & Legal Division provides critical corporate support across financial management, procurement, legal services, governance, and general affairs, including property and infrastructure management. The division plays a key role in protecting Toyota’s interests, ensuring compliant and efficient operations, and enabling the delivery of the company’s strategic objectives.
As a Corporate Solicitor, you will provide commercially pragmatic legal advice that enables Toyota to deliver its strategic objectives while maintaining strong compliance with the law and internal policies. Partnering closely with stakeholders across the business, you will deliver practical and timely legal guidance across a wide range of matters. Toyota is also piloting a legal business partner model in 2026, with the potential to evolve into a broader generalist remit.
This role is based in Port Melbourne with flexible work arrangements on offer.
How you’ll make an impact
Provide accurate, pragmatic, and commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of matters, including contracts, corporate, regulatory, risk, and compliance.
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, policies, and legal documentation, identifying and managing legal risks with clear mitigation strategies.
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact, providing practical guidance to support informed business decisions.
Partner closely with internal stakeholders to understand business objectives and deliver clear, timely, and accessible legal advice aligned to organisational priorities.
Build strong, trusted relationships across the business, acting as a valued legal advisor and supporting the development of policies, standards, and awareness through forums and training.
Support the selection, engagement, and ongoing management of external legal service providers to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective service delivery and achievement of agreed outcomes.

Degree qualification in Law and admission to practise in Victoria
At least 3–5 years’ post‑admission experience, gained within a reputable law firm and/or in‑house legal environment
Strong foundation in commercial law, including contract drafting and legal risk identification and analysis
Sound judgment with a high level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
A strong commercial mindset, with a clear understanding of business operations and commercial drivers
