ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re seeking an experienced Corporate Security Manager to join xAI’s Corporate Security team based in Austin, Texas. In this hands-on supporting role, you will assist the Senior Manager of Corporate Security in designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive physical security programs to protect our people, facilities, and assets in a dynamic and sometimes high-threat environment.

You will collaborate with global and local teams to deliver effective, cost-efficient physical security solutions that support business operations while upholding the highest standards of safety and operational excellence. Strong project management skills will be essential to successfully plan, execute, and track security initiatives from concept through completion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in leading the Corporate Security operations team, including complex access control issues, event security coverage, and incident response such as trespassers, protests, and other physical security disruptions.
  • Partner with business leaders to deliver physical security services that enhance business objectives and ensure business continuity.
  • Help manage, train, develop, and support the local operational team and staff.
  • Support the development and implementation of protection strategies for xAI team members with higher risk profiles.
  • Liaise with relevant law enforcement agencies to proactively identify risks and coordinate responses to security incidents that require law enforcement support.
  • Support physical security crisis management and emergency response efforts.
  • Critically assess physical security risks to employees and facilities, then help design, implement, and manage mitigation measures.
  • Help develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation for physical security system architecture and security standards.
  • Assist with physical security audits and compliance reviews.
  • Provide tailored physical security solutions, including uniformed guard services and other protective measures, to address team members’ specific physical security challenges.
  • Mentor colleagues and support their learning and growth through constructive feedback and coaching sessions.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to grow, learn, and drive continuous improvement in our physical security programs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate physical security or a closely related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supporting managerial role.
  • Strong background in physical security operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in physical security systems, access control, surveillance, crisis management, executive protection, and travel security programs.
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional security projects from initiation to completion, manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables effectively.
  • Ability to manage security teams, vendors, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Deep knowledge of security threats and local law enforcement networks (experience in Texas or similar high-growth markets is highly advantageous).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel and be available for on-call incident response as needed.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, or equivalent) and project management certifications (e.g., PMP or equivalent) are preferred.
  • Fluency in English is required

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Availability to work any schedule needed, to include: nights, weekends and rotating
  • Position is subject to pre-employment enhanced screening, including a background check,
  • psychological test, bi-annual physical fitness test, and a drug and alcohol test
  • Position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing
