What you’ll be doing

As part of the CIBC Private Wealth team, you’ll support high-net-worth individuals, families, and foundations with integrated wealth management and investment counseling services. As a Corporate Paralegal, you’ll provide general assistance to the Private Wealth Legal team on a variety of matters and projects. You’ll handle traditional paralegal responsibilities, including corporate secretarial functions, maintaining corporate records, and supporting regulatory filings. You’ll also assist with drafting and revising agreements, managing filing systems, and performing administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings and processing invoices. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with compliance, business teams, and senior leaders to deliver timely and accurate legal support. You’ll have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment where your organizational skills and attention to detail make a real impact.

How you’ll succeed

  • Corporate Governance Support – Prepare and maintain corporate organizational and board materials, including meeting agendas and minutes.

  • Regulatory and Legal Administration – Assist with advance preparation for board meetings, maintain corporate registrations, and make required filings on a timely basis.

  • Document Management – Organize, maintain, and update filing systems (hard copy and electronic) and retrieve information promptly.

  • Agreement Support – Assist with drafting and revising corporate/service and advisory agreements and template forms.

  • Administrative Support – Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, processing invoices, and booking travel for the Private Wealth Legal Team.

  • Collaboration – Work with other paralegals and attorneys to process and respond to legal notices and orders served by governmental and private parties, such as subpoenas and citations.

Who you are

  • You have a bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of administrative experience in a legal or corporate environment. Paralegal certification is preferred. Notary preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package.  This role has an expected salary range of $60,000- $80,000 USD based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.  The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
