POSITION SUMMARY:
Marathon is seeking a Corporate Environmental, Safety & Security Standards (ES&S) & Processes Manager. The Corporate ES&S Processes Manager leads the HESS&PQ Processes group. Primary responsibilities include MPC’s Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS), HESS&PQ Auditing programs, Corporate HESS&PQ strategic planning, budget and standards processes, and HESS&PQ Governance committees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports MPC’s Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) implementation across the company.
Partners with business units to assure the HESS&PQ Auditing process is executed effectively.
Maintains a strategic perspective across MPC to identify and share best practices related to OEMS and HESS&PQ auditing.
Manages the Corporate HESS&PQ budget, standards, and knowledge management processes.
Provides HESS&PQ governance committee oversight and facilitation including monthly planning committee meetings.
Monitors and trends key HESS&PQ performance data at the corporate level by collaborating with business units while maintaining a strategic view to assess the health of HESS&PQ programs.
Supports Corporate HESS&PQ strategic communication by collaborating with the Corporate HESS&PQ SVP, Communications, and metric SMEs on S&E performance messaging, ACB S&E quarterly metric updates and executive-level townhall execution
Represent Corporate HESS&PQ as a Steering Committee member on the Continuous Improvement Community of Practice to strengthen enterprise capability, drive performance and enable value creation
Lead the Bench Strength Improvement team in collaboration with Talent Acquisition and HESS leadership to advance a structured campus lead model aligned with MPC’s footprint, improving workforce forecasting and conversion of top talent
Travel up to 10%
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in HES discipline, science, or engineering is required
Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in operations, maintenance, engineering, technical services, or environment and safety
Field operations experience is preferred
Prior management system and/or auditing experience is preferred
Experience with Intelex is preferred

Builds and maintains trust with internal stakeholders, both in corporate and operating units, to facilitate process improvement.

Effective meeting facilitation while working to build consensus across multiple business units.

Can consolidate information from multiple sources into reports appropriate for different audiences.
