Job Summary

The Corporate Development Analyst (CDA) is a dedicated, hands-on resource supporting TYLin’s growth strategy through acquisitions, investments, strategic partnerships/joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives. This role supports all aspects of our growth – including evaluating market and competitive dynamics, as well as supporting the full M&A lifecycle - from market intelligence and pipeline management through business case development, valuation support, and coordinating cross-functional due diligence.

In a consulting engineering environment, success depends on understanding both financial drivers and professional services drivers such as Net Service Revenue (NSR), backlog quality, utilization/chargeability, realization, delivery risk, client concentration, and talent/leadership continuity. The CDA works closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams across the Americas (U.S., Canada, LATAM) and may interface with parent/company leadership stakeholders as required.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Deal Pipeline & Market Intelligence

  • Support the development and maintenance of an M&A/partnership pipeline aligned to TYLin’s strategic vision and priority sectors/geographies.

  • Conduct market mapping and target research: services, geographic footprint, client base, competitive position, delivery model, and strategic fit.

  • Draft “target intelligence” summaries (one-pagers/briefs) to support prioritization and outreach planning.

Financial Modeling & Value Driver Analysis (Professional Services)

  • Develop and maintain financial and operational models that evaluate potential opportunities (growth scenarios, synergy hypotheses, sensitivity analysis).

  • Analyze consulting engineering value drivers – both internally at TYLin Group as well as at potential targets -  including:

    • NSR trends, margin profile, and revenue mix (public/private; sectors; delivery models)

    • Backlog (quality, duration, conversion assumptions)

    • Utilization/chargeability and realization trends

    • Working capital signals (DSO, unbilled/WIP, write-offs) and cash conversion

    • Cost structure, overhead, EBITDA, and integration assumptions

  • Support valuation work (transaction comps, relevant benchmarks, and scenario-based value ranges).

Market Research and Competitor Benchmarking

  • Perform market research – including sizing the construction and engineering markets across our core sectors and geographies – and competitor benchmarking to help us understand our current potential and growth potential in key business areas

  • Make improvements to existing tools – including reviewing new data sources, revisiting underlying assumptions, and evaluating template design and usability – to support more rapid analysis and evaluation of specific hypotheses

Due Diligence Support

  • Help synthesize diligence findings into decision-ready summaries, highlighting risks, red flags, and value-creation opportunities.

Integration Planning Support

  • Support pre-close integration planning and post-close tracking (milestones, decision logs, risks/issues, value capture).

  • Help document lessons learned and improve Corporate Development tools, templates, and playbooks to support repeatable execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.

  • 1–3 years relevant experience (internships/co-ops included) in corporate development, investment banking, consulting, transaction advisory, FP&A, strategy, or analytics.

  • Strong Excel skills (modeling, data analysis), market research skills (including leveraging traditional and AI tools) and strong PowerPoint skills .

  • Ability to work effectively in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment with multiple priorities and shifting inputs.

  • Strong written and verbal communication and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

  • Strong collaborator and team player, both within the direct strategy team and across the broader business

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with consulting/professional services metrics (NSR, backlog, utilization, realization, WIP/unbilled, DSO).

  • Exposure to data/reporting tools (Power BI/Tableau) and project accounting systems (e.g., Deltek).

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional workstreams or building materials for senior leadership decision-making.

Core Competencies

  • Analytical rigor and structured problem-solving

  • Ownership mindset and strong follow-through

  • High learning agility and comfort with incomplete data

  • Strong collaboration

  • Professional judgment, confidentiality, and integrity

  • Clear communication (written and visual)

What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)

  • Maintains an accurate, actionable M&A pipeline and produces high-quality target intelligence.

  • Builds reliable models to evaluate both potential transactions and market/competitor information and produces decision-ready summaries.

  • Coordinates results efficiently and communicates recommendations clearly.
