About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Corporate Counsel to join our legal team. This role is ideal for a lawyer with a strong litigation foundation who is ready to transition into a broad-based product counsel role. You will partner closely with our product and technology organizations, applying your litigation background to assess and mitigate risk, while advising on a wide range of matters at the intersection of AI, product development, and business operations.

What You'll Do

Product & AI Counsel

  • Serve as counsel for product teams, advising on product development, feature launches, terms of service, and user-facing policies.
  • Provide guidance on legal and regulatory matters related to artificial intelligence, including AI governance frameworks, data use, bias, transparency, and applicable regulation (e.g., EU AI Act, emerging U.S. state laws).
  • Advise on intellectual property matters related to software, AI-generated content, and product features.
  • Identify and proactively address legal risks in product roadmaps and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Privacy, Security, and Trust & Safety teams to ensure product compliance with applicable laws.
  • Develop and maintain internal legal playbooks, templates, and training materials.

Risk Management & Dispute Readiness

  • Apply litigation expertise to evaluate legal exposure and develop proactive risk mitigation strategies across the business.
  • Support pre-litigation matters as they arise, including assessing claims, coordinating with outside counsel, and driving toward efficient resolution.
  • Manage litigation holds and support discovery processes when needed.
  • Monitor the legal and regulatory landscape affecting technology and AI companies and provide timely guidance to stakeholders.

Business and Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop, apply, and improve both internal and external policies.
  • Collaborate with internal business teams, including Finance and Collections, to support a range of business needs and advise on protective measures when necessary. 
  • Advise Sales and Go-To-Market teams on compliance and legal considerations to support competitive positioning.

Required Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing
  • 4-7 years of experience, with law firm litigation experience strongly preferred
  • Strong litigation foundation, including experience with dispute assessment, outside counsel management, and discovery
  • Experience advising on technology or product-related legal matters
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Understanding of AI tools and how to utilize them to expedite and streamline workflows

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with AI, machine learning, or emerging technology legal issues
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
  • In-house experience at a technology company
  • Experience with intellectual property, particularly software or AI-related IP
  • Comfort with fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Strong business acumen and product intuition

Our salary range reflects the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all our US locations. The base salary offered for this position is determined by several factors, including the applicant’s job-related skills, relevant experience, education or training, and work location.

In addition to base salary, our total compensation package may include participation in the company’s annual cash bonus plan, variable compensation (OTE) for sales and customer success roles, equity, sign-on payments, and a comprehensive range of health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits based on eligibility.

Base Pay Range For US Locations:
$176,000$264,000 USD

This role may require up to 10% travel for purposes such as new hire onboarding, client or partner work if applicable, team meetings, and industry events. Travel is coordinated in advance.
