Overview

Corporate Bank Technology has embarked on a multi-year technology refresh program that includes revitalization of "Channel" applications for payment initiation. The platform provides Corporate and Institutional banking services to Deutsche Bank’s clients over the internet. You will be working on enhancing applications that follow layered architecture pattern using JAVA EE architecture with an Oracle backend. With your engagement – the application team will strive to meet various global and country specific regulatory and market driven requirements for payment initiation and account reporting modules. The result of your work will be directly influencing key profitability metrics of the Bank and you will contribute towards applications that perform operational monitoring to run our business across the globe.

What You’ll Do

As part of our global team, you will work on various components as a Software Engineer. Your role includes specification, development, as well as the testing and rollout of new features. You are expected to contribute to the vision, understand our product roadmap, integrate business value with experience and contribute to building an engineering culture within the team. We expect the successful candidate to deliver high quality software and to be passionate about software engineering. You must have a proficient understanding of software development concepts

  • Be part of a talented software team that works on mission-critical applications

  • Java/Java EE application development in an Agile Collaborative environment while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to development & testing

  • Develop and document microservice-based & monolithic application components in accordance with requirements specification

  • Write clear, maintainable, and reusable code and take part in code reviews to ensure that features are developed at high quality standards

  • Partner with the design team, architects, business analysts and stakeholders situated in multiple regions and time-zones to understand requirements, designing, developing, and delivering applications for mission-critical systems

  • Co-working with Quality Assurance (QA) team on test automation of new and existing functionality

Skills You’ll Need

  • Good experience in developing Java based Monolithic /Microservices (preferably using Spring/ Spring Boot framework) and experience with Oracle 12c or higher

  • Application development experience using Agile Methodology

  • Demonstrated ability to perform 3rd level support as the developed components move to production

  • Familiarity writing Structured Query Language (SQL), optimizing, and simplifying existing queries and Unix Shell scripting & Windows platforms

  • Must have advanced skills & experience working with high volumes of data & comfortable making design decisions keeping performance in mind, Experience with modern SDLC tools - Git, JIRA, Artifactory, Jenkins/TeamCity, OpenShift - is a plus

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $85,0000 to $120,750 Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
