SET THE COURSE

Drives compelling, strategically grounded concepting and storytelling that elevates the Tommy Bahama brand across all channels. Leads messaging for campaigns and launches, stewards brand voice and tone, and partners cross-functionally to deliver innovative, persuasive content—balancing big idea thinking with hands-on execution and creative ownership.

BE THE ISLAND GUIDE

  • Partner with Head of Brand Content, other writers on team, and designers to come up with compelling and creative campaign ideas and content solutions that elevate and evolve the brand.
  • Concept and craft original, innovative, clear, persuasive copy that strategically delivers to briefs, across Digital, In-Store, Marketing and Social channels, including but not limited to: tommybahama.com, print, direct mail, email, social media, video scripts, and OOH.
  • Take initiative and ownership of assigned projects from end-to-end, from briefing and research to iteration and completion, bringing passion to problem solving and leading by example.
  • Steward and define Tommy Bahama’s brand voice, tone, and copy guidelines across touchpoints and seasons.
  • Lead messaging strategy and positioning for new launches, core programs, and updated offerings.
  • Leverage AI tools to streamline ideation, writing, and editing, assisting in creation of AIO/SEO copy and best practices.  
  • Develop and calendarize brand-building stories that align with seasonal big ideas, strategies, and trends.
  • Pitch and present creative work to Creative and Marketing leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with confidence, creative rigor, and minimal oversight.
  • Make recommendations (not just execute requests) when project briefs are unclear.
  • Support Head of Brand Content on assignment tracking.

ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE

  • BS/BA required.
  • Published industry writer, in print, online and social generally with 8+ years of copywriting experience in the fashion/beauty or luxury goods sector. Creative agency position preferred.
  • Proven understanding of psychology and persuasion.
  • Demonstrated data-driven storytelling, with experience using AI tools in workflows and producing SEO/AI-optimized content.
  • Strong knowledge of how copy relates to art, design and graphics. You’re a visual thinker.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency in some or all the following programs: Figma, Adobe InDesign, InCopy, Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet applications.
  • Possess a journalistic approach, know what makes a great story and can find the most compelling, commercially minded angle.
  • Keen attention to detail and quality.
  • Effective communicator who can prioritize and manage work.
  • Comfortable with receiving and incorporating feedback from stakeholders—and iterating rapidly.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a deadline driven environment, while working independently and as part of a team.
  • Keeps up to date with popular culture and trends within the fashion industry.

Multiple factors will vary the applicable rate of pay for this role, including an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skillset, as well as work location and available budget.

Pay Range: $88,400 to $130,000 annually
