REQ13761 Coordinator, Occupational Safety & Health (Open Date: 10/12/2025)
POSITION SUMMARY:
The MELCO Coordinator Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) reports to the MELCO Assistant Manager, Occupational Safety & Health. He/She is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the OSH strategies provided at MELCO properties. The Coordinator (OSH) will also assist in the development and implementation of the OSH Management System, conduct OSH Audits, assist in the co-ordination of OSH Committees, conduct workplace accident and hazard investigations, and prepare and deliver OSH training material. He/She is required to maintain these areas of responsibility in order to ensure the safety and well-being of MELCO employees and from time to time may be required to assist with similar duties across multiple MELCO properties
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the implementation of health and safety activities to ensure that workplace accidents are investigated, reported hazards are minimized and the health and safety of all employees is valued.
- Assist the MELCO Assistant Manager (OSH) in liaising with the Macau Labour Affairs Bureau to ensure compliance with local OSH regulations and facilitate Labour Affairs Bureau inspections of the property.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of OSH Management Systems.
- Assist in maintaining the ongoing OSH responsibilities associated with the Charter.
- Assist in coordinating and ensuring the ongoing operation of OSH Committees at MELCO properties.
- Conduct workplace accident investigations and workplace hazard investigations.
- Collate statistics relating to OSH incidents and accidents, provide monthly reports on these statistics, and suggest recommendations to reduce their number.
- Assist in the development of an annual OSH training plan and assist in the preparation and delivery of OSH training courses when required.
- Conduct OSH audits and risk assessments of work areas reporting a high frequency of workplace incidents or accidents and suggest recommendations for corrective action.
- Use cultural awareness and understanding whilst maintaining effective standards of written and verbal communication with staff and customers in the workplace.
- Perform other duties as directed by the MELCO Assistant Manager (OSH) or the delegated authority, in accordance with all policies and procedures, laws and regulations, applicable to the Department and MELCO properties.

Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience in a workplace safety role or similar;
- Good verbal and written knowledge of Cantonese;
- Proficient in verbal and written English is an advantage;
- Good understanding of occupational safety and health (OSH) principles;
- Holding a 150-hour Construction Safety Officer Certificate or a 144-hour Occupational Safety Officer Certificate is an advantage;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products;
- Experience in preparation and delivery of training programs;
- Experience in preparation & conduct of OSH related auditing programs;
- Experience in the conduct of workplace accident investigations and workplace hazard investigations;
- Completion of tertiary studies, or similar, relating to OSH would be an advantage;
- Casino/Hotel experiences are an advantage.
