Purpose of Role:

As a Materials Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products through our operations. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, from capturing and recording data during the manufacturing process to maintaining accurate stock levels across the business. You will be responsible for monitoring inventory movements, reconciling discrepancies, and supporting production teams by providing timely and reliable information. By keeping our stock records precise and up to date, you will help safeguard efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure that customer demands are met without interruption. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Inventory Accuracy: Ensuring stock levels are correctly recorded and maintained across all systems. Reconciling discrepancies and conducting regular stock counts.
  • Data Capture & Reporting: Recording data from the manufacturing process in real time. Producing clear, reliable reports to support production and supply chain decisions.
  • Process & Compliance Oversight: Monitoring stock movements to align with company policies and quality standards. Supporting audits and ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Working closely with manufacturing, procurement, and sales teams. Providing timely updates to ensure materials and products are available when needed.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Matric with a tertiary qualification in supply chain management, logistics or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a mining or manufacturing environment.
  • Inventory Management Principles Familiarity with stock control processes, cycle counts, and reconciliation methods to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manufacturing Process Data Capture Ability to record, interpret, and maintain accurate production data that supports operational planning and reporting.
  • Systems & Software Proficiency Working knowledge of inventory management systems, ERP platforms (SAP), and Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting.
  • Supply Chain & Logistics Awareness Understanding of how stock control impacts procurement, warehousing, and distribution, ensuring smooth flow of materials and products.
