St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring an Admissions Coordinator for the Hospice unit located at our Edgewood, Kentucky location.

Shift: 1st shift, 9:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday.

Hours: Part-time, 25 hours weekly.

Job Description:

Facilitate the timely transition of patients into the department programs. Provide administrative support to the admissions team to ensure that all eligible patients receive care, barriers to admission are addressed and resolved. Works closely with the referral sources to provide for collection of necessary information to start patient care. Collect data, pre-authorization and authorizations for services provided by the agency. Check external software programs for information regarding patient services, eligibility and reimbursement criteria. Check physician’s licenses and monitors computer programs for information on issues with physician’s licenses. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Qualifications

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

  • Associate degree in related field

Specialized Knowledge: 

  • Sales and customer-service focused. 
  • Results oriented.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge. 
  • Proven communication and organization skills. 
  • Previous experience in healthcare registration.

Kind and Length of Experience: 

  • Demonstrated customer service experience. Healthcare experience.
