About This Opportunity  

As Coordinator, Client Experience, you’ll play a pivotal leadership role within UQ Library’s Library Student Experience directorate. You’ll ensure welcoming, high‑quality support through virtual and face-to-face service points across four campuses. You will also lead a team of around ten Client Experience staff who are part of the bigger team of approximately 30 staff.

No two days are the same. From balancing service coverage and staff wellbeing, to troubleshooting and continuously improving how services are delivered, this role is ideal for a people‑focused leader who enjoys variety, problem‑solving, and working closely with a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Proven experience leading and supervising frontline library or information services teams in a client‑focused environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver and continuously improve high‑quality face‑to‑face and virtual services for diverse client groups.

  • Strong people leadership capability, including staff development, coaching, performance conversations and workforce planning.

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and contribute to projects and committees.

About You   

  • A relevant degree with significant relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of professional experience and education or training.

  • Well-developed experience working in an academic, special or research library, delivering a broad range of library and information technology services.

  • Demonstrated success in providing high‑quality client and stakeholder services, ideally within a higher education environment.

  • Proven ability to supervise, coach and develop a diverse team, fostering capability, engagement and performance.

  • High levels of initiative and adaptability, with the ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong emotional intelligence and the ability to build trusted relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
