The Role: Cook - Gray Birch, Variable Hours
MaineGeneral Health is looking for a Cook to join our dynamic team of professionals. This position cooks and prepares food for distribution to patients, the cafeteria, and catering services.
The Work:
Reviews menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared.
Follows standardized recipes in preparation of all foods.
Prepares daily menu to ensure food will be ready at specified times and assists with customer-facing duties as assigned.
Adheres to all applicable guidelines regarding the storage, handling and preparation of food as well as in the sanitation and maintenance of work area.
In absence of department leadership, guides staff to complete needed department duties.
You Have:
Ability to think and work independently and with direction and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
High School graduate or equivalent. (Preferred)
