THE ROLE

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food for guests while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role plays a key part in delivering a positive guest experience by ensuring food is prepared accurately and in a timely manner during events. The Cook works closely with the Stand Lead and Food & Beverage team to support daily operations, maintain cleanliness and organization, and ensure all food handling and safety guidelines are followed in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

This is a part-time, event-based position scheduled based on the arena’s event calendar. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare food items using grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment in accordance with company standards

  • Operate all kitchen and stand equipment safely and correctly

  • Evaluate food quality before serving to ensure consistency and presentation standards are met

  • Follow all food safety and handling guidelines, including proper time and temperature controls

  • Take direction from Stand Lead regarding product preparation and quantity needs

  • Assist Stand Attendants in expediting orders to ensure efficient and timely service

  • Monitor inventory levels, including freezer stock, and communicate product needs to Stand Lead

  • Properly store all food items and ensure leftover food is handled according to guidelines

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment and work areas

  • Assist with cleaning and closing duties after each shift

  • Communicate any concerns or issues to Stand Lead or Management promptly

  • Follow all instructions from Stand Lead and Management at all times

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

There are no supervisory responsibilities in this role. 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE     

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • 1 to 2 years satisfactory cooking experience preferred.

  • Some culinary training or directly related experience preferred  

  • Experience working in event venues, arenas, or guest services is a plus.
     



 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Good oral communication skills and the ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

  • Ability to work alongside team members and follow instructions.

  • Excellent hospitality and customer service skills, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.

  • Is customer oriented, a team player, and works efficiently and commits to quality.

  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

COMPENSATION

Competitive hourly pay.

Location: SNHU Arena- Manchester, NH 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Medium lifting up to 50lbs

  • Ability to stand in the work area while performing tasks.

  • Ability to walk around the work area and facilities.

  • Ability to use hands/fingers to grasp or feel.

  • Ability to talk clearly and concisely with other staff.

  • Ability to hear other staff.
