Intec Automation Inc. is an established (25+ years of business), small automation company based in Rochester, NH that specializes in the design and build of custom automation equipment.  To support our continued growth, we are looking for an energetic individual to serve as a Controls Engineer III.  The individual we are seeking must enjoy problem solving, and rarely building the same machine twice.  The company needs a hands-on, assertive individual that is self-motivated, pursuant of personnel development and growth, who is willing to share knowledge and enhance the capabilities of co-workers and the company alike.

Core Responsibilities

Includes all Level II responsibilities plus:

  • Leads large-scale automation projects
  • Develops control system architectures
  • Creates programming standards and best practices
  • Provides technical leadership across multiple projects
  • Conducts technical risk assessments
  • Leads customer technical discussions
  • Manages complex integration projects
  • Develops and implements new technologies
  • Provides advanced technical solutions
  • Mentors junior and senior engineers
  • Contributes to estimation and proposal development

Must-Have Skills

  • Expert-level PLC, robot programming and integration skills
  • Strong ability to design and implement complex control system architectures
  • Expertise in multiple automation platforms and technologies
  • Strategic thinking and planning for technical risk assessment and solution development
  • Advanced technical problem-solving skills for complex integration challenges
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and customer interaction
  • Capable of developing and implementing new technologies in automation systems
  • Ability to manage complex integration projects from concept through commissioning
  • Competence in estimation and proposal development for automation projects
  • Familiarity with safety standards and compliance requirements for industrial automation

Additional Skills

  • Proficiency in creating programming standards and best practices
  • Strong leadership abilities to guide technical teams and mentor engineers
  • Advanced project management skills for large-scale automation projects
  • Ability to lead customer technical discussions and manage relationships effectively

Education & Experience

  • BSEE/BSEET with 8-12 years' experience, or
  • ASEE/ASEET with 13-17 years' experience
  • Extensive project leadership experience
  • Advanced certifications preferred
